New Zealand-born music legend Max Merritt has been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles after suffering kidney failure.
Merritt, 66, born in Christchurch, New Zealand, “is going to make a complete recovery” his manager Wal Bishop said today.
I've always been a great fan of Max and the Meteors and wish him a speedy recovery.

Well respected “feel” drummer and bassist “Panky” Pankhurst has suffered a terrible road accident that may leave him unable to play. Lately of the Blue Sliders, Panky played in many inner-Melbourne bands and sessions before moving to the Mid-North Coast of NSW where it has been my pleasure to play with and crew around him in Pillows and a wide range of bands, from Disco to Blues to Reggae, trios to showbands. One of those dependable musicians who never drops the bundle, even if he drops his sticks. A speedy and full recovery.
Take care on the roads, particularly gig nights, and protect your hands during the lug.

Our best wishes for a speedy recovery go to Jimmy Barnes who has just had open heart surgery to correct a life-long cardiac problem.
